factory tac waaaaay off

is everyones factory tac and boost gauge screwed up mine is about 2000 rpm's off and the boost is @ 5psi off any way to fix them I do have a vdo boost but no tac except for the scanmaster

I posted a thread on oil press and I had no responce ill try again

So is it common for the oil press. to drop at high RPM say around 4500 to 6000 redline

is the pump cavitating or sucking air from some where
I have the turbo saver from presion turbo and a 1 qt fram racing oil filter
and a huge aftermarket oil cooler
at idle oil press is at 40psi and any thing over that the guage tilts over to 60psi untill you reach that wot in 2nd turning @5000rpm then the gauge slides back to 40/50psi as soon as I lift off of the gas peddle goes back to 60psi
unless im turnning 4500 rpm or better the gauge stays at 60
I have the 60psi spring and the 30% more volume oil pump
20w 50 red line oil
 
i had checked my tach against the ecm with an otc2000 and just recently with my auto xray6000 and found same thing ,
my tach is off about 500 (reads 500 higher than actual idle at 650 shows just over 1000 blinking next led and is consistently high through rpm range ), this made me also doubt the boost gauge so i installled a pillar mounted autometer 30lb boost /vac gauge , my OE boost gauge is almost right on or as close as you can tell on the OE disco light show gauge
if your boost gage is off (low) it could be your connections , check the hose ends for leaks.
 
the factory boost is about 3 or 4 psi higher than my vdo could the map sensor be week and is that what controls the factory boost gauge

speeking of map sensor how much of a benfit do you get by installing a 3bar
 
The LED indicators on the dash are driven by an integrated circuit that goes haywire over the years due to minute amounts of dust and corrosion changing resistance values. Caspers has replacement chips for the instrument cluster to remedy that.
