Just curious what kind of times you guys pulled off with just the basic upgrades i.e turbo, intercooler,DP etc. and leaving the stock engine alone?

That is focking awesome!!! You da man:) :D

Thanks, guys. Car weighs 3540 according to the BG scales (which are questionable). I think the car is heavier, since I've done little to lighten it, it's all steel, has concert sound and power everything.

smoking fast for that turbo and weight. gotta be some black magic in that one.

I don't think it has anything to do with black magic.... I'm sure he runs a LOTTA boost (as in he doesn't even bother to look at the boost gauge) w/ low timing and makes sure it always has the correct octane (C16-117 octane) as well as plenty of fuel.... His car obviously is getting it done on the launch (1.46 60') so I would guess or ASSume he launches it with a good amount of boost (15-20lbs).... The key to keeping it together is definitely making sure there is NO detonation (as I said before the correct octane and plenty of fuel with the correct AFR).... Basically a well thought out combo, a great tuner/driver, and most likely a LOT of seat time cause it's all about trial and error to get where he is!

Just for ****s and giggles I'll bring back the good ol' HP calculator for this one....

Lets just say stangbanger's car weighs 3540lbs as the BG scales said....

Given his best ET of 10.66 and MPH of 126.40 it says he's making 638.hp at the flywheel! Keep in mind if it's heavier as stangbanger seems to think that flywheel HP # that I just gave will go up accordingly:eek:

raptor maf

I see he has a Raptor MAF,thought you had to be from Ohio to have one of those! :D

You're right, Brick, I do run a lot of boost.

On the 10.66 run, I unknowingly had a malfunctioning wastegate puck that would only open about 1/4". Needless to say, I don't know how much boost I was running. I normally would get out of the throttle under these circumstances, but on this run, I didn't notice it until the 1000' mark. The car was running clean and flying, so I decided to stay in it. It pushed an intercooler hose clamp off in the traps, which cut the mph to 125. The car didn't have one of it's best 60's on that pass....1.53. I believe with a killer 60', the hose clamp staying on, and if the heads and crank would have stayed connected to the block, that pass would have been a 10.50.

After repairing the wastegate, and getting the boost gauge needle pointing to a number, I ran back to back 10.78s. Again, with less than stellar short times. Boost was in the 34-35 range.

The 126.4 mph came on a crappy 11 teen run in the semi's of TSS.

ITSAV6,

You don't have to be from Ohio to have a Raptor..........You just have to know someone from Ohio.;)

Like Scott said.

I know that I am very pleased with my Raptor. And I have more street miles than track miles on mine, with No downside in drivability!!

Yeah it definitely sounds like the pass where the hose clamp came off you could have gone a 10.50 with a killer 60'....

Not bad for a full weight TR w/ a stock longblock:D
