Is there a fiberglass or carbon fiber hood available on the market that has a nice underside where I could still use my hood liner??? If anyone knows, let me know at pvilser@fortdearborn.com Thanks! Paul

Paul, what I did to give my Kirban fiberglass hood the "stock" appearance, was to have the underside of it painted semi-flat black, and then I called a friend of mine who does hand-painted lettering. He measured the position, took the measurements about the size of the original lettering on the original hood, made himself some sort of stencil, and then lettered them to the underside of the fiberglass hood using some silver paint...The result is stunning!!! I assure you, it's the closest to stock as you can get!
A while later, I was in Englishtown N..J. for some races and Dennis Kirban himself came over and wanted to see my hood because he was told about it by another Buick racer and he said that it was one of the neatest jobs he had seen...
E-mail me if you want to see some pictures...I 'm sure that I have a few on which you can see the underside of the hood....
'bye!

I have one from hartline perf with all the webbing like factory hood. The hood liner fit perfect just have to drill small holes where push tabs go.

glass hood

i bought one from cal hartline, looks and fits ok, cal also said if your car goes over 130 mph to be safe use hood pins, im satisfied with my new hood,

Thanks Odell & gnxis. Paul, I don't know when you plan on getting a hood, but we are bringing 7-8 to the Nats this year. It will save you a ton in shipping. They all have the underhood bracing, use a stock hood latch and have the trim piece incorperated into the back (windshield) edge. They will be first come, first serve. Last year, all but one was sold before we got there.

Fiberglass hood latch / pins

I just got my fiberglass hood from Poston but need help in how to attach with the factory front latch assembly. Any tips as I do not want to have to put in hood pins (no I do not plan on going over 130 mph). Right now it is a real bugger to get to match with the front header (about a half inch high) Any advice out there?
