I decided to get a PTE front mount. How much fuel should I be having to add? I am at 46 lbs line off and its still popping like crazy. I have a te60 w/42.5 lbers

popping as in lean pop?

what are your O2's looking like?

Just keep adding until you see mid to upper 700's, unless you have a better tuning device, then go with that of course.

Really do not think it matters what add-ons are on the car.

How much knock and what ype of fuel?

no knock
o2s were everywhere. This was at the track and it closed before I couldn't make another pass...I made 3 passes and added fuel every pass. It was getting better but I added 6lbs and took out 2 lbs of boost. I couldn't leave it at WOT so my o2s are hard to judge on scanmaster. Is 50 lbs line off a crazy place to start next weekend?

50 #'s is up there but if it helps...

do you pull the orange wire to the computer between runs? do not want the computer to learn in the new pressure and pull it back thus voiding previous adjustments - or is that only working at part throttle? don't remember if it learns in at WOT

where is Carl???? He was just explaining this to me the other day during some chip talk.

no knock is good - sure you need to add fuel?

Whether fuel pressure changes last more than one pass depends on the chip - if it locks the blm during wot then you can really tune with fp, otherwise the ecm will adjust for the increased pressure by cutting back on the injector pulse width after it "learns" the new fp, usually about the time you make a pass and drive back on the return road. Most chips these days lock the blm. At a guess, if you went from a stock intercooler to the fm, you need to add "50-70 hp" worth of fuel. Depending on where you were before, you may need bigger injectors or you may be able to do it with fuel pressure. Don't forget that the fuel pump output flow drops as the output pressure rises, so at some point you will be raising the base fuel pressure but the wot pressure won't go up any more. At that point you are really out of injector :-). You will be making more hp at the same boost, and the boost most likely went up a couple of psi from the lower restriction, so start by turning the boost down about 5 psi from what you used to run. Then get your tune back in shape with the fuel pressure, and then see where you are at and start working your way up in boostand fuel pressure.

i would turn the boost down as far as you can go and tune it right. add in 1 pound increments and adjust fuel pressure accordingly just so you can get on level ground.

Never was a problem before. I didn't do anything to mess with spark. I'm going to take it out in the country tonight and crank the FP and lower boost until I can get some decent o2 readings. We'll see....
