Like the title says, the car has rock solid FP until after 15psi or so. I can pedal it and keep the boost around 15psi, and the FP will stay right with it. Go anything higher and it drops. FP also drops between shifts (quite a bit, 8psi or so) if boost is above 15psi. Boost below 15psi, FP is rock solid on shifts, etc.
So, before I pull the pump out and beat it to death with a hammer, quick questions.
The last pass I made in the car, the direct scan log shows everything normal except o2 count and voltage. Voltage down the track was 14.1. Car has a Red's volt booster. Could this cause the FP drop, or should I stick to the pump?
Two, I had a problem with the hot wire kit on the car before. It has an inline fuse that goes to the alt. and to a relay. The inline fuse melted itself. Before it melted the car was doing what it is doing now, popping. I replaced that, and all was well. Wondering if that is my problem? Going to put a Casper's hot wire on it to make sure... no biggie there.
Other than that, going to replace the fuel filter.
Any other input? Sounds like a bad pump (or wiring to pump) and a bad alt. What's everyone else think?
Thanks in advance.
