front brake cable removal

This is how I do it. Some use a wrench but I think a socket is easier. I should have taken pics of everything I've done since ripping the car apart but I'm lazy.

Push the ebrake cable down about 4-5 clicks. GENTLY put some vice grips on the end of the cable to hold it in place. Release the pedal enough for it to line up with the eyehole to slide the end of the cable out. Release vice grips and the cable should retract into the plastic lining. Here's the trick I learned. GET A 6 POINT DEEP 13MM SOCKET AND PUT OVER THE CABLE DOWN OVER THE CLIPS. GIVE THE CABLE A LITTLE NUDGE AND IT POPS RIGHT OUT!
You can use a screwdriver to gently pry the grommet from inside the firewall by sneaking up behind the insulation.
