How do you get the rubber pad off of one of the front bumperettes? There's a sheet metal nut on one side that comes off. The other side is underneath the bracket.

Thanks,
Eric

1. Bumper off car.
2. Bumperette off bumper.
3. Cushion off bumperette.

That's how I did it, anyway...

Strike...

Well I'm at 2-1/2... bumper's off and bumpeette is off... there looks like two studs sticking through the bumperette... only one nut is accessible.

I did this job quite a while ago and I have CRS disease (Can't Remember Shiit). But I seem to recall there are 2 threaded studs on a strap that's molded into the cushion, but only 1 stud uses a speed-nut, the other just sticks into a hole in the bumperette that has this little metal insert thingy that promotes a force fit.

Don't screw up your bumber on my account, but that's what I vaguely recall.

(I'll look at my parts book and I know I have some new cushions somewhere in the basement. If I see something enlightening I write back.)

Where?

can you purchase new bumper pads/ rubbers?
approx cost?

thanks

Discontinued, so far as I know. Not aware of any reproductions. You see them pop up now and then as NOS pieces, but they aren't cheap. One of the used parts guys might (???) have some used ones he'd be agreeable to parting out. One good thing - they are not TR specific...

Those top posts can actually unscrew, but you have to be very careful not to snarf the paint while you're doing it.
Removal was fairly easy, but on the reinstall I just smacked it in.
One of the screw-into-thingies got broken off, so I got creative with a pull-tie. While pushing in on the post I wrapped a pulled tie at the base as tight as I could get it and trimmed it.
Good luck trying to find the rubber pieces. I looked a long time before I finally found one of the fronts that I needed.

Looked at my parts book and at the NOS cushions I have. No new thoughts on this one, ecna.

Sorry.
