I got a new front cover and I am leaking oil big time.

The new cover has a seal that goes on from the outside, the original one was on the inside. It looks like it is leaking from that seal.

Any Advice?

Or you left out the oil deflector ring... Or you somehow got the wrong seal... Or the damper hub is damaged... Or the front cover is cracked where the seal goes... Or you just got a porous front cover...

Thanks for the ideas, but I don't think that's it.

Not possible to put the seal in backward. I coated the seal pocket with loc tite before installing the seal.

By oil deflector ring do you mean the oil slinger? - got a new one of them and it is on there.

If the cover was cracked, I did not notice it when installing it and it did not seem to have any porosity - but it did have three extra holes for different types of oil pans. I would believe the oil pan gasket would hold that - maybe I should have filled those holes with sealer.

Oh yeah, the balancer seems fine - wrong seal???? Hummmm, I did not test fit the seal over the hub on the balancer.

I was very good about cleaning everything - even clear coated the new cover, so I had examined the parts very closely. I took my time and made sure it all went together just right - or so I thought!
