OK, so we tried a home made setup on my buddies chevelle, to limit the downward travel of the front suspension when he launches. It helped keep the car more level, and even yanked tires a little. I've been reading up and it seems like some of the faster guys use them on f bodys and stuff. Anyone use something like this? Any info is appreciated.

You could always revert to the old-style, tried-and-true, albeit ugly, Super Stock front end limiter. (And yes, I've done this)

Remove the rubber bumper from the inside of the upper control arms, and weld Acme-thread nuts onto the upper/lower side of the arm, which allows an Acme-threaded rod to be raised and lowered toward the spring pocket. A jam nut on the rod, on the upper side of the control arm, serves to lock the rod in place, once the height is set. The bottom of the rod should have some kind of rubber boot placed on it, so it doesn't destroy the top of the spring pocket.

It's a little ugly, but it helps keeps the car from wheelie'ing into outer space, if you can't run a wheelie bar setup.
