After installing a Willwood Four piston brake setup on the front of my GN i noticed severe tire rubing when driving the car. I contacted Willwood and they said the spacing should change no more than 1/8 inch. After comparing with the stock rotor the change is 2 inchs! SO this placed the outside edge of my tire into the outer edge of the fender well! I intend to change to a better offset in the front tires, but i have found the spacing is going to require a unique backspacing. SO this is what I did! I changed upper control arm shaft kit with the Moog kit that give the ability of better camber adjustment. I still had about 1/8th inch hit when brakeing or cornering... so! I took to a body shop who said there's not enough room to make any type of changes. I thought about it, and decided he was Full of IT! So heres my fix I gaind arounf an 1.5 inchs of clearance! Very easy just tkaes a little time, and with winter almost here nows the time.

so if i understand correct what you did
wildwood told you it should only change an 1/8" so after see it wasnt right you butchered your car and you altered the stock caster camber settings to get the tire to fit
wouldnt you still have a freaky looking car with 4" wider track at the front of the car than you do at the rear , i dont see that as fixed , and what happens if you hit a bump while the wheel is turned and doesnt the tire hit the rear of the wheelhouse when turned
i would have contacted weldwood and found out if they had a sent you the wrong rotor setup
and if 2 inches was the change than you would have to move to a different rim like a custom gbodyparts 6" GN rim or run a thinner front tire like a 205

Humm--Type-o people, give a guy a break!

I see in my writing a have a type-o which may or my not be the cause of some confusion. When i listed this story while back I did not notice I typed 2 inchs instead of 1/2 inchs. :D For a total of 1 inch. I didn’t change the tracking by 4 inchs, that’s just absurd. When I origanly got the car it came with two sets of rims, a Torque Thrust and Stock. The Torque Thust where rubbing due to incorrect sizing. The wheels in the phots are the Torque Thust as I got them. If you look just outside the large groove you will see a light black line. This is where is would rub, when I ran them down the street and to the local body-shop. As far as the large groove, the previous owner put new springs and drove the car to the Alignment shop, (smoking all the way.)

HACKING UP!

Hardly the case, especially since the fenders and supports are both off the parts car, while the original fenders are tucked up nice and safe in the attic, with the rest of the original equipment I removed. :D In a time with people hacking frames and installing cages, I would hardly think anyone would consider cutting inner fender supports ‘Hacking.’
But to each his own.:)

I think we all have a set goal or idea with our cars, mine will never be a factory car--it just won’t. The main goal for the fender adjustment was so I can run the widest possible tire which this adjustment will allow me to do.

Rims,

I have all intentions of correcting the rim offset with correct unit for my car, (after the new paint is on.) But in the mean time I wanted to be able to drive the car with the torque Thrust since the stock ones are rusted to hell and back.
