I have an ATR double pumper on the way, so I pulled the tank last night in anticipation of swapping the pump out. The tank is full of rust. I took it this morning to a shop that cleans tanks, they said don't even bother.

An aftermarket tank is $119. Jay's GN has them for $199, and my local GM guy can get me one for $230. Has anyone had to replace their tank, and if so, what did you use?

I know that some folks have reported the GM tank as not being avaliable, but I know someone who bought one about a month ago at the same dealer.

SEEMS LIKE A NO BRAINER TO ME MAN...GET THE CHEAP ONE, THEN BUY YOURSELF SOME POR-15 AND COAT THE TANK WITH IT. LAST GAS TANK YOU'LL EVER HAVE TO BUY.;)

Cost to clean the tank $58.00. Cost of Por-15 $30.00 + S&H. Plus 1 afternoon to roll the tank around and get he stuff to apply evenly.

So, about
$90 to clean the tank
$119 for an aftermarket tank
$230 for an OEM GM tank

Has anyone else had tank problems?
