My soon to be mother in law has a 90 something chevy corsica, and it won't start. She's not close enough (thank god) for me to look at it, but another mechanic did and said it wasn't getting fuel. I suspect frozen fuel lines, as it was fine until it got frigging cold here. Plus she likes to run it low on gas, which does not help. Some place down there told her $500 to change her fuel pump, which I thought was ridiculous. Is it a pain or what? Is the pump cheap? Thanks for any help.

I did one for my G/Fs daughter cause the place down the road wanted $650. The tank is under the rear seat and it took me about 2 1/2 hours cause the lines were rusted and I didn't want to replace the sender. I did the job for $200, fuel pump was $63 at Autozone. Her daughter promised to pay me $50 every other week for the job. When it came time to pay me she told me to go FF myself, but that's another story.
