I need to find some one that offers an adapter to install a FP gauge to the rail. My gauge is 1/8"NPT. I would like to mount it so that I can look directly at it when looking over the LF fender into the engine bay. Any suggestions?????:(

what size is that fitting?i dont know how they size those schader fittings.

Fuel rail adapter

One post I read said it is -4 AN. If so I need a 90 degree elbow with the -4 AN to go on the fuel rail and 1/8" NPT female to screw the gauge into. Can anyone else help. I havent found quite what I am after with the vendor catalogs I have. May have to make some calls on Monday:confused:

Iburou,

Nice looking piece! But I have a gauge that has 1/8" male NPT on it. I cant find anything around here that will go from the port size to 1/8 NPT female to let me screw the gauge into. I am I missing something here? What is -4 AN?

Paul,
What you need is a -4 female AN to 1/8" male npt. Then screw a female to female 90* elbow onto it. Then you can screw your gauge into the elbow.

The fuel fitting on the rail is an SAE flare which is 45 degrees. The -AN flare is a 37 degree. The threads are the same but it may leak.

What you want is an SAE 1/4" female inverted flare.

Thanks for the information Chris-- I have a fitting with an -AN flare and it does leak ever so slightly.

I'm using an Autometer electric FP gauge with a male fitting (believe it is 1/8" NPT) and I need a fitting to get it on the rail.

Anyone have a good source for the type of fitting that Chris mentions-- 1/8" NPT female to SAE 1/4" female inverted flare ?

Or know of another solution ?

thanks,
Scott

Adapter

Scott,

After alot of hunting I think I may have found the right adapter. I have one ordered and it should be here this coming week. I will post more when I see and try it. By the way I had a 1/4 "inverted" flare and it did not fit. Will keep you posted.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, Now I wonder. I called Caspers in my hunt and the guy I talked to said they didnt have anything but he knew for sure that Summit or Jegs had it. Short conversation to say the least. Mind you I am NOT bashing Caspers, I have purchased several things from them and have always had GREAT service:)
