Looking for a part number or a location where I can purchase the fitting that fits on the fuel rail. I want to hook one up on occasion to check fuel pressure. I've seen in other posts that it is a standard A/C fitting, but no part number or location to buy.

Thanx

The -4 AN threads are the same but the sealing surface ain't the same.

The fuel fitting on the rail is an SAE flare which is 45 degrees. The -AN flare is a 37 degree.

What you want is an SAE 1/4" female inverted flare. But to make it easier Caspers has a neat one already made up along with a gauge and line. Dunno if the price has gone up but a few years back I bought two from them for $30 each.

Schrader Valve

I'm curious, do I have to remove the Schrader Valve to get an acurate reading of fuel pressure?? I used an AN-4 female to 1/8" NPT female adapter.................no problems sealing the connections. When they state 40 lbs of fuel pressure under what conditions are the talking......idle...............1 lb of boost??

Thanks

Kirban's Performance also sells these and will give you the fitting separately if you ask.

More info... anyone?

Both Casper's and Kirban have T fittings, which are all 45* flare (non AN). Neither make progress toward an AN, or other "normal" fitting. If you want a simple diag gauge to set fuel pressure, either have a pre-made underhood gauge, too.

I, too, am looking for a fitting to attach a permanent fuel gauge (with isolator) inside the car. I have found a Parker 664FHD "female flare to male pipe thread" brass fitting, but not a source to purchase it.

As a standard AC port, there might be hope in looking up AC fittings, but I haven't gotten there yet...

BTW, that is a "flare" fitting, not "inverted flare" which shows up as brake line fittings.

Does anyone have a part # AND purchase source? Or a way to safely/correctly seal a 37* AN-4 to the 45* 1/4" fitting?

I bought a 180° -4AN hose end fitting from Russell. It's not in the speed catalogs usually but they do exist if you call. It's silver, stainless I think, non-anodized anyhow. I plumbed my fuel pressure gauge with this on the end of the Casper's T with the extra port for draining the tank. It works and seals fine. It's a hose end so you'll have to install a -4 hose into it instead of just screwing on an adapter.

I have brass fittings that have an internal spherical seal that screw onto the fuel rail and have a 1/8" NPT male on the opposite end.

$7 each including postage.

E-mail me off line.
