Before I start, I have done a keyword search and found a TON of info on draining your fuel tank via the rail. I have everything I need to do it, so here's my question. I am going to use black 3/8" fuel hose because I already have some handy, I plan on just watching it closely for bubbles. I have never put a fuel pump in one of these cars, but if I were to jack the front or rear of the car up, would I be able to drain more fuel out? I bought 15 gallons of B32, and would like to run as much pure race gas as possible.

Chris,

It's going to be almost impossible to get all the fuel out of the tank without removing it, because the pump doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the tank. However, you should be able to pump enough out through the fuel rail method. I can show you at dyno day which two leads must be connected to run the fuel pump.

Just drain the tank until one of the following occurs:

you see bubbles in the fuel as it empties into your container
the fuel flow into your container becomes erratic
the fuel pump STARTS to complain

Then, STOP!!! No pump likes to suck air, submerged pumps are cooled by the fuel they sit in, and continued pumping may kill your pump.

The gallon or so left in the tank is a non-issue, so long as you use 10 gallons of the good stuff. Five gallons is not enough to drag race on. That is, unless you like driving over your crank. Five (extra) gallons of gas weighs 30 pounds - less than you put away at Olive Garden.

:D

The black wire behind the alternator can be connected to the back of the alternator to turn the pump on right? Or is it the green wire? Good thing I'm not on the bomb squad.....:D
