I have a 225-60-15 on a stock aluminum T wheel in my trunk with plenty of room for a larger tire.

The mini-spare was standard equipment and no option for full size spare, at least in 1987.

I don't think a T wheel and stock sized tire is gonna fit with the jack the same way as the mini-spare.

Not the best photo for this discussion but here's a shot of my current spare, a 215-60-15 tire on a GN wheel. Fits rather well with the jack in the stock location.

I'm almost positive it was an option. Mini spare standard, full size option...Somone clarify..and the fullsize fits fine with the stock jack

Cool almost looks like it belongs there.

Not an option listed in the literature for 1987, they only gave ya 4 wheels with any wheel package.

Cool. The way it looks it will be easier to get a t wheel than what it would finding the correct mini spare.

Full size spare was an option. Just not on a TR. And it wasn't mounted in the spare tire well. There was a bracket spot welded to the trunk floor. And the full sized spare sat smack dab in the middle of the trunk more or less. You'll find them mostly on Malibu cop cars altough you could have ordered it on any G-body with 14" wheels. The jack was mounted in the normal place on the right side quarter panel.

I tried putting a full size "235/60R15" spare on a T-type rim, but trunk will not close??? Is there that much difference between a "225/60R15" or "215/60R15" that some of you use as a spare???

On the same note, since the mini spares are almost 25 yrs old, does any company make replacements?
