I was wondering what kind of gains I'd see w/ a T63e turbo, 9x11 3400 converter, and 60# injectors?

The car currently runs 12.60's-70's @ around 105mph in street trim.

Car has the following mods:
Hotwired 340
adj. fpr
Bluetops 36#
9" K&N w/ MAF pipe
Hooker catback w/ testpipe
2800 stall D5
rear aibags
BMR tubular lower LCAs
SMC alcohol injection
MAF T+ & extender chip (LS1 MAF) - not yet installed
Comp 980's - not yet installed

I will be purchasing a CK Perf. shift kit when purchasing the converter as well.

I realize I will probably need a good intercooler and ported heads to take full advantage of this turbo, but what kind of gains will I see w/ my current setup?

Thanks,
Ross

im not sure about the other stuff but my 9/11 converter was worth 3 tenths over the stock d5:D

My 3400 Vigilante was worth 1.3 seconds in the quarter and 0.6 seconds on the 60ft time...

FWIW, a friend with a similar setup, except no SMC MSD 50s, and a 3000 9/11, goes 11.5x @ ~119. ~525rwhp, 700+rwtq. 29psi & 23*.

The 340 is good for ~540+- engine hp through the stock lines @ 12.5V & 70psi... at least the ones I tested. Get 13.0V back there and the number goes to ~570. 13.5V and it's ~640.

An l/u swith, or using the programmable 3rd gear l/u in the Extender, will get you some more mph, in my experience. Feels like another gear. :-)

With 55s I had to go to a double pumper. And the 340 that was in there prior to them was just 2 years old. It was just to the stage of not gaining the last couple PSI of fuel pressure while in boost. but pumps are cheaper then engines.

My thoughts are that even with the alky, the 36s may be a significant limiting factor. Go 50 or larger, and give yourself a margin of error/safety.

2 pennies for ya......

Read my post and post title. I'm going w/ 60# injectors.

If I have enough fuel (I think I will), what will this combo run?

I have 50's, a 63E and an A/C 9" N/L. Also, a V-2. My car has run a best of 11.249 @ 121.34 @ 25 PSI. 5 PSI launch. Good weather. Good track.

The car weighs 3,410 pounds with driver - it's pretty light.

That should bracket it for you.

:D

Thank you. Is that with stock heads?

Yup, not even valve springs.

Very low miles car...

Awesome! I'd be happy w/ a 12.0.

I have the turbo waiting, and I am ordering the converter and a shift kit this week.:D

I can't wait. I'll be adding the turbo, shift kit, converter, comp 980's, and a MAF T+ w/ extender chip all at the same time. I guess I will need to get a reburn on the chip?
I already need a reburn, and the chip hasn't ever been in the car.:(
