Gas guage goes crazy at 1/4 tank.

When my gas gauge hits a 1/4 tank it starts to swing way past full and the back and forth between empty and full.
Sound like the sending unit?
I am going to install a fuel pump soon and would like to fix the gauge problem at the same time.

Mine did the same thing at or below 1/4 tank. Sender windings were shot.

Changed the sender along with a new Caspers pump and my fuel guage is now accurate. If you can't find a good sender unit, I can rebuild yours.

You should also change the fuel hoses and clamps while you are at it.
