87 GN went for $44,000

looks like we better hang on to these collectors cars huh?

Well I am hanging onto mine because it is fun to own and drive but it is nice to know that the value is going in the right direction for when I turn 70 and sell :D

I'm happy to see the prices of these cars on the uprise. They are the best example of a true musclecar from the 80's era & nice examples should bring strong money 20 years later. Hopefully the sale of my 2 regals will be enough to finance a new 2008 Dodge Challenger R/T.

I like the publicity...

But I dont want to see our cars turn into the next Mopar scenario. The Mopar retards have screwed up the car collector world. They are paying way too much for 4,000 lb junks with Hemis. Theres a respectable, classy attitude that goes with owning a Turbo Buick. We are also educated and know what the value of our cars are, so we dont need B/J to tell us. Disclaimer----Obviously I dont own a Mopar, but if u do please dont take Offense to my post unless U paid 100k for a 71 Challenger. In that case oh well!

I agree with you "Brer Rabbit" when you say that thosew Mopar "guys" ( to remain polite :) :D) are nuts...I'd never paid $100k for any Hemi Cuda or Challenger under no circumstance!! I was old enough to drive and clearly remember when my father bought a brand new '69 Dodge Charger R/T with 440, auto 4.10 Dana rear, etc...and I know that the car cost somewhere near $4,600. brand new. Now I can understand it increased in value, but no one will ever convince me that it's worth $100k today...never!! They might be valuable but let's not forget that they're still old technology with much less road handling, rode like a brick and the quality of fit and finish was quite poor...( at least on mine with water leaking in since day one). That particular car still exists and now resides in England, and was completely restored.

I would not pay $100k for a GNX either...I would prefer getting two GN's for that price, one to drive everyday and the other to race and show

Claude :)

I wonder when we will see a GNX go across the BJ block and what the 'informed' car guys describing the cars would say.

"These are the rarest of the GN's although this one doesn't seem to have the twin turbos they came with......."

I tried watching more last night but I am so tired of the same cars all the time. I feel bad for the guys who put 100k into restoring something and get 50k when the hammer falls.

I want to see a TTA go across too.

I worked on a 1970 Challenger 440 auto, with the SE,RT package and 23 on it. It was a clean car, plum crazy, black vinyl top and interior. He offered to sell it to me for 25k. I should have probably bought it as an investment . In my opinion after driving this owner proclaimed "Torque Monster" I am really glad that I own a Turbo Buick! I remember the Cudas and Challengers when they were new and somehow someway they just ain't the same.

Ive been watching some of the auctions on speed as well. I got bored after awhile. You can only see so many mustangs and vettes cross the block. I like watching the weird stuff go. They had something like a 29 ford truck with a calliope and a popcorn wagon trailer. Now thats different! The 60s musclecars just dont interest me as much as watching the oddball stuff. And for petes sake people, clean your engine compartments! lol. Those guys rag on everything, but worst of all...if you have dust or some new parts in the engine bay, youre sunk!
I like the undercar camera they put in. You see some really pristine cars go across, and the undercarriage looks like it sat in the weeds.
I try to watch the lists to see if there are any interesting cars coming up and try to figure out when they will be up. Sitting here watching mustang after mustang roll across is boring.
