GN won't turn over

I tried to start the GN yesterday, it cranked once and then nothing. I put the battery on the charger over night and still nothing. I bought a new battery and it won't turn over either. The dome light comes on but nothing. Not even a click fron the solinoid. Is there a fusable link to the starter anywhere? I know that my old battery was shot. Since last fall I have had problems with it if it sat for awhile. Thanks in advanced for any replies.

If you have any help you could tap the starter with a hammer while someone turns the key.

I betch'a the tapping trick works. Mine did the same thing a few weeks ago at a convenience store in the middle of nowhere.

I just tried tapping on the starter and solinoid. Nothing. The dome lights don't dim at all. Could this also be trouble with the neutral safety switch?? Where would the wires for this be at, without taking the consol out.

The key has to be held ON by someone while you tap.

Even if that doesn't work it still sounds like the starter is history!
