I have a friend with an 87 GN...basically a stock motor...small cam...he is going through O2 sensors almost as fast as he can replace them...he drives the car a couple of days...the sensor starts getting lazy(O2's stay in the 300-500 range on Tlink) then it codes a 13...he has tried GM sensors and Denso...these are the single wire non-heated...only gas he runs is 91 octane...no race gas...I have no clue as to why he is going through the sensors so fast...anyone have any ideas?

Are you SURE it is the sensor and not TLink, a bad wire, ground or ECM?
What happens when you throw an old sensor back in after a few days?
Do the sensors look dirty?
Car Burning oil?

Not sure about anything really...the sensors look like new when they are taken out...so I don't think it's a contamination problem...old ones put back in do the same thing...appear to get lazy very quick then code the 13...also don't think it's Tlink because he also used a SnapOn scantool he has and it showed the saem thing as tlink...probably have him try a different ECM...check the grounds...any other ideas or things to try?

#1. Throw in a Bosch sensor. Far more active and is great as long as u dont run race gas.
#2. Be careful with the sensor when you install it. Very careful. Treat it like a light bulb as you're screwing it in, because they are very delicate internally.
I would check grounds and ECM connections at the harness.

Bosch O2's dont work well on our cars.

AC Delco's will work with no issue... unless there is a malday like blown headgasket seeping coolant, oil contamination, leaded fuel, etc.

Post your readings at idle as far as BLM, and look at spark plugs for issues as well. They all should be tan color with no deposits.
