ok. the turbo, intercooler, injectors are all on its way. now i need a good cam. need something with a slight lopey idle. this is only going to be a street mid to low 11's car. not billet roller. on a budget. how bout something from edelbrock? or that speedpro cam everyone is talking about?
thanks guys

I am using the speedpro 204/214 in my 87 and I love it. You really won't find much of a lope with it, its very smooth , but gives the car a distnct exhaust note (at least compared to my old 208/201 cam) and the car runs awesome all the way through the rpm range. The part # is CS1016R. Good luck.

Thanks thats what I was looking for

Thanks for the word on the speedpro. What kind of lifters you running with it? GM or another brand? I do want some word on that edelbrock cam I think Intercooler on this board has some info? Or someone please. Also is that (speedpro) available from summit racing?
Thanks
Steve Chambers

i bought that cam from intercooler ,the edelbrock and speed pro are the same.

Thanks Everyone

Thanks Again, I was leaning toward that speedpro anyway, got a website or number? Is it available through summit racing?
Thanks Again,
Steve Chambers

A lot of people have bought them through northern autoparts, I'm not sure what their web address is but if you do a search im sure you can find it. I bought mine from the local O'reilly Auto parts that I used to work it, most auto parts including autozone should be able to special order it with the part # of CS1016R.(get a knowledgable salesman, most will not want to deal with it and lie and say they can't do it) I am using the Speedpro lifters, ht969 i believe. They are a fairly quiet but seem to be a tiny bit louder than stock. Good luck

Thanks A lot JDS

Once again thanks a lot, that speedpro cam seems to be getting some notoriety. I don't need a lot of cam for the car and everyone I spoke to before that to screw go up to Comp Cam 218/218? That seems to be a bit much for my car, not looking for high tens just mid to low elevens is acceptable. Someone else give me feedback on this combo. Any dyno numbers would be great too, so I know when to get scared at what RPM:D

60-1 Turbo
FMIC
3200 9incher nonlu?
3in tp,dp,single shot exhaust
55lb siemens
ported polished stock heads, big valves both in and out and valve springs (100 pounds)
Neal Steward Street Chip? Burned for that good 93
Or Jim Testa

Like I said any numbers on the dyno sheet that would be great

Thanks Everyone Turbo Buick.Com

Dosen't matter if you have a 13sec car, or 10sec car for picking a cam that will work.. There are people out there that have been in the 10's with a stocker, and people that cant break into the 11's with a 224-224.;) Now matching the parts that will work in harmmany together, and tunning the beast for MAX performance is the KEY.. Go with anything 218-218 and under.. Some do like the 224-224 or equi, But they also like to rev them alot higher than they should be.. My next short block I build will have a 204-214 in it.. Haven't tryed this one yet.. You cant go wrong with a 212-212 either.. Hell , there all good..:p

Do a search on CAMS, and you will find everything you need to know.. All this has been covered countless times..
