For you guys that are in the process of repainting/ restoring your cars, can you please do a little research on emblem locations before you put em on. Some of these emblems are discontinued and next to impossible to get. I was browsing the cars for sale forum, and there are some really nicely redone Ts and GNs. But I don't know what you were thinking when you put the emblems back on.

Haha, I may know at least one pic that you are talking about. I'm just putting the hood badges on mine, problem solved.

I just threw them at my car like a dart board. I thought that is how GM did it. I agree, I hate misplaced emblems.

Gm never did have them in the correct spot to begin with ,I have them in correct locations,so if need need the locations let me know since y"all have them wrong....

I just left mine off all together its waaaay easier to wax and it looks a lil more slick to me.

The only emblem or name plate that is hard to get on our cars is the chrome Buick on the trunk lid of the non-GNs. Everything else is available in mass quantities still. Although the metal enamelized ones are getting pricey.

The only problem I have is when somebody uses glue or epoxy to reattach them. Its a PITA having to carefully wetsand that area down so you dont ruin the paint. If you have to reuse your old emblems please use molding tape when you put them back on.

Tim,

I was planning on putting all mine on up-side-down... thought it would add character to the car... :p How are you doing sir? Long time, no talk! Getting the car closer to completion. Got the glasstech 4" cowl and all the fiberglass bumpers now. If I can only get them painted... Interior guy is currently working on my interior. Too much damn money in this car!

Hey Chris, if I had all the lute I've spent on my cars, I'd spent it on my cars. I tried to call your cell, but it was disconnected. If you get a chance, drop me an email with your phone #.

my emblems

I also used the locations on gnttype.org, but I had the painter airbrush the emblems on the car. You can kinda see what I mean in my webshots album in my signature. In the new paint album. You cant really tell from the pics, but the red and yellow in the six are candy colors over silver to give it the enamled look. I still grin everytime I look at it. No problems with waxing the emblems either.

I hope my pics can help someone or inspire someone to try something different.

Thanks Jerry Berger

I have actually been complimented on my emblem placement. I took exact measurements of where my stock emblems were and used them when putting the new emblems on. I did a crappy job of taking the measurements though so I didnt make a web page for them like I had originally planned. You really need to be the one that took the pictures to even identify where a body crease or pleat is, otherwise you could end up putting them on backwards or way off the mark.

This is one of the new emblems I put on the car after getting it painted.

Speaking of Emblem Placement...

Tim,

Let me know what emblems you're needing... I might have some squirreled(sp?) away. And if you have the time to wait, check out some cars at the car show in B.G.

WOW, this is the one I was talking about. that pic pushed me over the edge.

Keith, thanks for the offer, but I have all of em in GM wrappers. Know anyone that wants a clean T running or roller with a 6 pt rollbar? :D

Yup, I'm selling it as a work in progress. I also have a 78 Regal with a 305 for sale. The T Type is $6000. It needs some assembly, but does run, and the 78 is $600. The 78 is a nice car, but it needs frame rails, which I have. I drove it daily all of last summer.
