hello guys-
i just put on my brand new 50# injectors from PTE and i'm still having o2 problems at WOT, Joe at PTE(chip guy) told me to set the fuel press at 43-44psi, i did that, then he said run 17-18psi of boost. ok, took the car out and hammered it and got the o2's all the way down too 750. and the boost was at 20 but creeped to 22 right before i let off.and i got 5.9* of KR and i was running pump gas. my question is that if i need a new pump or not.it's a Red Armstrong XP that's at least 5 years old, not the Plus. the reason why i ask this is cause i know plenty of guys running 40psi of fuels press and run 21psi of boost on a TE44 turbo. my goal is mid 11's and if i need a new pump, what should i get? my mods are at the bottom.

thanks,
Cody

Cody,

You can call me and we can discuss your situation, but let me say you have exceeded the boost pressure I recommended.

The 93 chip has 20deg. timing @WOT & I recomended 17-18psi max. so at 20 to 22psi I would expect the situation you described.

If you are running a HD actuator & letting the soleniod control the boost then this could be the reason for overboost. Try eliminating the solenoid, and adjust the actuator manually for the 17-18psi boost level. Hope you have an adjustable actuator?

I tend to doubt that you have any pump issues. If you wish to run more boost on pump without alky then the timing in the chip needs to be lowered.

BTW don't think your going to run mid-11's on a 93 chip on just straight 93 pump gas.

thanks for the reply Joe, i can not turn the boost below 18psi with the HD actuator. and it creeped to 22psi. i only expect to run mid 11's in race trim. plus, i just got a check engine light and will not go off and i have already reset the computer. and i do not know how to see the code on the scanmaster. also, that oil relocater kit you sold me, it leaks where the filter meets the casting, i have tried tighting it but it still leaks pretty good. i will give you a call tomorrow Joe.

Joe burns some good chips but you cant take a chip burned for 18# and run 21 # on it

11's on pump gas you will need a well built motor to do that

it is very possible to go 11's on 93 octane but with cam and heads and good tune

I always ran in race trim but the one time I made a pass in pure street trim back when I was running a ta-49 I had my heads ported and cam 50's and Joes 93 chip and went 12.0 at 114 with 18# boost

;)
