Replacing head gaskets later in the fall. Is it worth it to have some work while the heads are off. porting, valve job, springs replaced........... and is there a good place in the Chicago area to have this done?
I'm no expert by any means, but with your combo you should be able pick up some more power with a nice port job (heads and intake). Also some springs would definately help if you are using the stockers. Just my suggestion...
I was just wondering, you said you are gonna do head gaskets in the fall. Are they blown?? It kinda sounds like you are changing them in an effort to perform maintainance. (I apologize if I am incorrect) anyway, if this is the case, then don't do the headgaskets unless they are blown. If they are infact blown, then I would definetely have some work done to the heads and intake. There are big gains to be had with a good porting job.
Don't know about the Chicago area, But you could contact Mills- Racing, 517-523-2497, in southern Mich, for your head work, he did mine, very satisfied with the work and price, glad I did it .
