head rest removal problem ?

A while back I asked this question and was told to use something like a hacksaw blade bent in a L shape and push down in the front of the head rest bar and it would release. I have been trying off and on for two weeks and still can't get the head rests off. What am I doing wrong. I have my new seat covers and I am ready to install the top part of the seat but I can't get the head rests off. Please help me. Thanks, Jon

A friend of mine had similiar problem after installing aftermarket
headrest damaged the locking devise. We tried for about 2 hrs headrest was stuck. What we did pull the foam from the lock device and punch the rivet out. This releases the headrest. When you install the back cover take it easy pulling and stretching or rip.

I guess you gotta be smarter than the headrest to prevent damage......

Well I got the driver seat head rest off but I am still having trouble with the passanger side. I guess it is just me. I have got the new seat covers on the driver seat and they look good.
