Header question

I am selling my hooker super comp header cause i was told that these header will cause lag when compare to other headers. so i will like to know which is the best header to bolt to my 4.1 stage II motor with the GN 1 R aluminum heads? i was told the ATR is the best header. does any one have picture of these headers? and where can i buy the best headers. money is not an issue has long as i am not spending over $800.00

Correct me if I'm wrong but didnt Duttwieler and Hooker join forces to design the Stage II headers?


The headers that hooker makes that really suck are for the 86-87 GN .... They collect from the bottom of the block and go up to the turbo. Are these the ones you have?

I bought ATR headers , didnt like them so I bought poston headers didnt like them much either.

I dont blame you for selling those, I had them on my car and had very poor results.

If you like the stock configuration get the postons.

If you buy the ATR's you have to buy their downpipe also.

I don`t know if i want to buy the down pipe. if it comes with this header set this will be fine, cause i will just sell the down pipe. i have access to a exhaust shop and i am planning on doing a 3 1/2 custom down pipe. i will look at the poston header. so far i am more likely set on the ATR. i have done a search. i have notice some bad and good report on these header. I really don`t care, cause this is high performance product and sometime thing does go bad, which i can deal with. I just want a BADA$$BUICK so if i have to work my a$$ off. i will.

Oh the rolling frame is back from the body. MAN this baby is shiny black ,looks brand new. Yea, i can see my self eating of the frame...LOL.
