As we all know... doing headgaskets (with engine in car) is a PITA. What is the best way to get at the rear headbolts to get CORRECT torque values?

P.S. Post pics if you have them.

Problem is the question, not an answer.:)

Use an extension and socket that fits best. May be long or short socket and a short extension or not? I have 3 different sockets and various to fit the different applications.

If it is a real problem, remove the A/C box!:D

First try various arrangements of sockets and extensions. Some torque wrenches simply won't work due to their large heads. I found a cheapo 3/8s drive small headed one at an ACE Hardware that barely got in and worked for two headjobs. It broke during a retorque but they replaced it free (their last one). You can also manipulate the block, via the tranny and motor mounts (loosen, remove, brace, wedge, twist, cuss, etc.). But you're right, that PS head can be testy. Its why many just pull the motor. Good luck, Joel

Did you guys up your torque values on the rears? I would think being at an angle would effect the torque value.
