Guys, I am going to have my motor built soon and need some help. This motor is for the street but I would like to blast off a 10 sec pass if I want. Basically I want a roller set-up, RJC girlde, 2 billet mains, and a 4.1 for a starting point. I am still debating on whether to use a 109 or the 4.1 but I would like to go with the 4.1. The only issue is the weekness of them. I plan to use GN1 heads as well. The motor will also be stroked. So what cam, rods, pistons, gaskets, rockers, etc do I use? I need exact specs.

Hi jd, I was hoping ...

to read some replies, as I was looking into doing basicly the same. unfortunately a phisical ailment seems to have the upper hand at the moment. But have you done any research on the 4.1 builds, like Bruce Plecan's, or the other offerings out there? they are some good reading.

Who's stroker assembly were you going to use? I believe Mike at fullthrottle has recently come up w/an assembly, offering rod's as well. I am thinking of a 224 cam as a minimum, 83#ers and a TE-70 that's been sitting on the shelf for a while.

I have been contemplating this as well...Everything I read suggests that much bigger than a 61 turbo on a 4.1.... and you have enough HP potential (especially with GN1 heads).... to bust the block.... A girdle would help.... but a 70 turbo is big enough to go 9's on a 3.8L.... I would think it could easily toast a 4.1.....girdle or not....

so why in the hell would ya use it  ???? little POS 109 blocks take a beating

Imo

I would use the 109--you only want an occasional 10 second pass?--do the girdle and skip the billet caps--IMO --I have had trouble with the machine shop getting the caps on straight. 218-224 billet roller setup and you are there.

I dont plan to race mine but I want a bad ass street motor. I have a 44 right now and am not to sure whether to go bigger or not. Thats the nice thing about the 4.1 is that you dont need as much boost. Smaller turbos work well. I am going through Brian at Gbodyparts to build mine. He uses Webber racing.

Not for sure, basically looking for the best set-up for the money. If it's the right build, I dont mind spending the extra $$ but I am definately shopping around for the best price.
