i recently had a edlebrock timing set put in my gn, after about 500 easy miles it died going to work one day i took it apart and come to find out the top sprocket came apart....looks like it was heated to much or something when being made becuase its very brittle, anyway i did a compression test and it appears that all cylinders have compression and with the valve covers off nothing looks bent, also after the car died i tried turning it over it the cam must have stopped on a non interference spot, so my question it im gonna put a cloyes double roller on, should i just put the sprockets on dot to dot, or does the top one have to have the dot at the top, right now i set it up with the #1 on tdc then the cam on compression for that cylinder but the dot was down so its dot to dot now, will that change on each revolution because it only spins 50%? am i ok with the way i set it or is it 180 off? oh yah and edlebrock took the sprocket for testing and it looks like there gonna pay 80% damages and labor so that helps.....it ruined my timing cover,my cam sensor, and put alot of chips in the oil pan but i think everything will be ok if i drop the pan and clean it,put a nex pickup in and replace the other parts, let me know what you guys think....thanks for any help in advance
