As stated, get more specific and the help will be specific. LOTS of experts on this board. They know these cars inside and out.
Where in TX are you located?

Reverse lights

Sounds like the shift linkage coming off of the floor shifter to the column could need adjusting. I would turn the car on and shift through the gear selections and have someone look to see if the reverse lights come on at all while you move through p / r / n / od / d / etc..

If they do then you know you need adjustment if they don't the perhaps column located sensor has failed or the light bulbs themselves have gone out on the car.

I find it amazing that such a simple feature on these cars is such a problem across the whole board. It amazes me.

Hi,
Backup light switches rarely fail, in fact I can say that in my whole career, I have never changed on of this design. If you have a scanner, hook it up and see if the p/n input is correct. In lieu of that, follow the previous instructions. The switches are plastic, and can be adjusted by hand, slides back and forth.Stick the car in reverse and move the switch until the lights come on.Bulbs could be bad , as an alternative.
Let us know the details on emissions test failure.

thanks

Thanks for the replies. The results of the emissions is as follows,

HC(PPM) CO(%) CO(%)+CO2(%) RPM READING

LOW HIGH LOW HIGH LOW HIGH LOW HIGH

378 86 1.57 1.07 15.53 15.51 READING
220 220 1.20 1.20 500 2200 LIMITS
FAIL PASS FAIL PASS OVERRIDE OVERRIDE RESULTS

Sorry about the way it is set up, just match the colors.

This what i got and i am no longer in TX, Im stationed in Deleware.

Your emission results seem to indicate you are too rich at idle (I assume thats what LOW means).

Was the car adequately warmed up?

Is the cat working properly?

What chip do you have in there?

Backup problem is most likely the slider switch on the topside of the steering column. Reach up under there and adjust it.

I guess i could warm the car alittle longer and im not sure about the cat and the car has a stock chip.
