Hey guys. I posted a few how to threads in the "How To" section. I hope It helped out a few of us . Now I could use some help.
My hood insulator is letting my engine bay down in the looks dept. I tried a few things but nothing worked great. I could buy a new one but I've been pushing the old lady hard on buying things for the car. She'd great and all but has her limits. Any suggestions would be great.

I've always had luck with using a can of tire shine foam to clean up my original insulator. Just cover everything else with poly before you spray it! :)

I wrapped everthing in plastic and sprayed it down with simple green then rinsed it. Came out better looking. It will never look new just cleaning it.

I tried simple green. Didn't really work for me. I am interested in the tire foam idea. Keep the ideas and solutions coming guys.

TUFF STUFF foam cleaner for upholstery, soak it on and hose it iff

Who has new ones now? Either stock looking or aftermarket custom??

Vader6. Should I remove it or should I do it on the car with drop cloths. Sounds messy

If you remove it you'll probably need new buttons.

This. Throw a plastic tarp over the engine and spray away. I used some tire foam and just let it sit for a while and you can see all the dirt dripping off. Than wiped it down. Looked pretty darn good. Am going to try some paint in a small spot to see if it holds up and if it does do all the letters.

I tried the upholstery cleaner. A bit better but still not happy. I'm going to give a shot at tire shine on the weekend . I'll post pictures. Before and after. I do appreciate all the advise.

Pissed off somewhat and a bit drunk. Working on the insulator pad with everything I got and still not happy with the results. It's in good shape just dirty.
