Yes there is. The current replacement from GM no longer has the silkscreened lettering on it. You get just a plan pad molded for a turbo hood.

Is there a problem in getting the correct hood pads for a Turbo Regal?

No, as long as your don't care about the lettering.. otherwise BIG $$$ if you can find one

When I bought my 18K mile GN a few months ago that was the only thing I needed. Apparently a mouse ate a hole through the original. I really wanted the stock silkscreened version but I just could not bring myself to spend $350-$400 for one when a plain version was only $100. I wish I had the original look but it wasn't worth the vast price difference.

So how hard would it be to silkscreen a batch for resale? Would there be licensing and copyright issues that make it too much of a hassle?

My best friend is a great artist and has some silkscreen connections. This is on my "To Do" list for over the winter. I have my old one I could give him as a pattern.

My other thought is to scan it, clean it up and make an iron-on type transfer set. No clue if it would work but it would be easy to do on the computer, cheap and I could test it on my old hood liner. I'm going to try that within the next month or so and if it works I'll let everyone know.

Thoughts on this initial plan?
