sc2 40#
Thats what mine are, maybe you can cross ref, to AC, I suppose anything with 40# will work.

Thanks Russ!
Ill have my bud cross ref that number in the morning.;)

Quick question.......with fiberglass hoods is the spring needed? If so can you use the stock spring or do you have to use a lesser tension spring like ya do with the shocks?

In the hoof I bought it looked like there was no place for the spring, with the stock metal hood it looks like there are tabs that you can screw the spring into but doenst appear thats the case with the fiberglass one.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

replys to Buicksx2 and Louie L...

Buicksx2,what I did for the hood spring was to get one from a '80 Chevy Citation as the stock one is much too strong. Then, I fabricated two little brackets looking like two little "loops" to hold the spring in place with two metal screws into the fiberglass.

Also Louie L, I'm still using the stock hood shocks as the "softer" ones got too soft after a while and let the hood fall down!. Don't worry, stock ones work fine...
'Bye, Claude. : )

Rich,
My hood didnt come with a provision for the safety latch or the spring. I was told to use a spring from an old starter solenoid? I didnt fid anything of the sort in the auto parts stores.Im also having to figure out the place men of the safety latch.

Claude,
maybe some worn out stockers would work well , but mine are way to strong still. They were causing cracks in my steel hood!!!

I have yet been able to find the softer shocks. Ive been 2 different places with the part number that Russ gave me and my buddy also gave me. No dice.
