Looking at the Hooker cat back from Summit and Jegs. Both show that the Super Competition Turbo mufflers are included now rather than the Aero chambers. Which are better? Pros and Cons?

Just got that system in Dec and it came with aero chambers,
Simple install, have not driven it to test noise levels, snow:(

Just installed my kit from summit last weekend. I would buy it from them, it is $14.00 cheaper and there is no oversize box handling fee. Mine came with the aero chambers which are a little loud at low speeds until the exhaust gets some heat into it. As far as drone it has decreased dramatically at lower speeds, 40-65, and at 70mph you cant even hear the exhaust with the windows up. I did notice that the boost went up alot with the new exhaust and test pipe. I had the boost turned down to 10lbs and now with the new exhaust its back up to 15lbs. The car spools up alot quicker too. Good luck.

I don't think that they have ever changed the ad copy since Hooker went to the Aero's about 2-3 years ago. I could be wrong though!

I don't remember if the SCs are straight thru or make 3 passes (tight "S" path), but the Aeros are chambered and you can see thru them, although it is not a clear, straight shot. I like them. Straight thru's might be a little better performing at the expense of sound volume and drone.

If you can, get the MaxFlos, they are straight-thru (like the UltraFlows). My Hooker system came with the Super Comps and they droned like mad. So off they went and on came the MaxFlos, slightly louder outside but quieter inside. The Aero chambers would be a second choice as the flow data shows them to flow less than the Max Flos. The SC's are a baffled, 3-pass type (identical in construction to the DynoMax's)

If you go the Hooker route dont do what I did. I put the muffs on the intermediate pipe and tightened the clamps down a little, not a good thing to do, you will have to support the intermediate pipe with something with the muffs on it but pushed on as far as they will go. If you dont do this you cannot get the tailpipes over the rearend to slide them into the muffler. Another thing I ran into is that I wanted the system tucked up as far as possible, now on occasion the intermediate pipe will rattle on the bottom of the car, I have since lowered the muffs a little so this stops. Hope this helps!
