Hot air or intercooled turbo??

Hey.. this is listed on Ebay as a 86-87, but it looks nothing like the 86-87's. It looks more like the hot air turbos.

Am I seeing things, or is this not as listed?

Purusing ebay like normal, and this jumped out at me as being "Odd"... compressor wheel only has 6 fins... stock 86-87's have 7

Can you use hot air turbos on intercooled cars... it looks real close??

I noticed it too. Looks like a hotair turbo.

The turbo in a 84/85 HOT AIR. It is identical to my spare HOT AIR turbo. Brad

Seller replied to me.. no mention of year, only stated that he added more pics.

Looking at it, it's definatley a hot air housing and wheel... but looks re-clocked to work on a 86-87.

Anybody ever see anything like that before... any disadvantages (flow/pressure difference between hot air and intercooled)?

As stated by Brad, it is a HA turbo.
It will work on an IC'd car but not very well as it flows considerably less.
