HotAir to Intercooled......

Hey Gang, can anyone give me some insight on swapping out my non-intercooled engine/trans to the 86/87 intercooled setup ? Too much of a headache ? I'd like to buy the engine/trans setup and pay someone to do the swap - preferrably a local shop. Any ideas ???

Not so sure if a local shop would know what they are doing.
As for the swap all you really need to do is swap out the engine and engine harness....Transmissions are almost the same.
You probably would be better of just intercooling your hotair.
They sell Intercoolers for the 84-85 set-up.
The whole engine swap deal is a bit of work.

The other option would be just to get a 86-87 GN/T-type

I've never experienced it but I read about guys not liking the throttle body in front of the turbo when they added an intercooler. Some have written about having a "funky idle" condition (???) but never going into detail about what that was. So unless I can get one of those TurboMotion kits, I'd rather do an engine swap.
