I have two poly engine mounts and an ATR dp...with the turbo mounted on Poston's headers.

I literally have less than a 1/4" from the bottom corner of the plastic air box...the metal has already been trimmed. The firewall had to be trimmed where the dp goes b/w it and the frame and leaves about 1/2" to the dp from the firewall.

Basically, the dp is sitting high and to close to the other garbage....and I'm pretty sure that it is causing false knock!

Can I have the pipe "modified" to fit by a shop or is this a common problem that I have to live with for the ATR dp? What should I do?

....know is when a digital camera would come in handy!!! Hope it isn't too confusing

Can you loosen the cat or Dump (whichever you have) and try to lower it a little there if its too high??

i had that same problem with my ATR downpipe that is like the terry houston down pipe-

after making a pass in the car, it was still real hot, i pryed the pipe downward with a 2 by 4, and eased it down.

no more rubbing

I had the same problem with my THDP, after I installed my ATR exhaust system and my Precision turbine housing. Two-step fix for me:

1. Drilled-out the holes that mount the THDP to the turbine housing so that it could rotate counter-clockwise a little more.
2. Modified my exhaust hanger near the catalytic converter (test pipe in my case) to allow the exhaust to hang a little lower.

Worked for me...
