Just wondering how many 109 block guys have ran in the 9's with a MAF and an ECM with drivers?

Brent,

I've run low 10's @136MPH in a 3700 # car with the stock ECM. There are plenty of guys faster than me out there. I think Red Armstrong has run in the 9.30 range. Roy Garcia was down in the 9.40's with the stock ECM and Max Effort chip.

3.42's

#4 200r or TH400?

2004R by Len Freeman @ Performance Trans (shameless plug I know). :)

#5 Anyone using the PTE-70 GTQ .85 w/ 3500 "O"stall? lol

Old school T-76 Q trim. Art Carr "N" trim or P/I 5 disk "6" pump

83# injectors 72's won't get you there.

Champion Al heads ported by Champion not "R" version

#9 Stock Intake or BG/Champion?

Stock

#10 I have a great cam, but whats the biggest cam you can use w/ ECM

Don't know for sure. I ran a 224/224 cam on a 112 lobe separation.

Like I said above there are much faster guy's out there maybe they'll chime in.

Thank's Neal ;)

I was so amazed to watch you run the 10.20's passes then drive back home to CA from AZ. That was just awesome!!!

BTW, I had a perfect Len Freeman Trans that took hundreds of 15-20psi trans brake launches, never had one problem untill the motor let go and took out the bell housing. :( Now I have a TH400 by Len ;)

Brent, Not sure if you remember me, I was the tall goofy guy drooling over your roll cage in Phoenix. Here's my answers:
1. Mafless - MaxEffort "R"
2. 6100 w/ 29" tire
3. 342
4. Shamelessly plugging my Len Freeman 2004R
5. Limit P trim 70 w/ 63 housing. Ive recently changed to a .85
6. 3"
7. 72's with LOTS of ALKY
8. Out of the box GN1's, Ive since had them ported.
9. stock ported
10. 214-214, I now have 218-218
HTH, Scott

Of course I remember you. How is everything?

Yep I grenaded that motor. I'm building a new girdled 109. I think the only thing holding me back from a 9.99 in that damn 3'' Maf & Stock ported heads as big as they can be ported. I'm on the list for Chap. R1's

Yeah, I've been following your saga. I'm just scared to post in the SW section, those guys are mean.

Randy.....Southernboost.... has one.... using an old Eric Marshall chip.... through the stock MAF meter..... untuned... LOL ... his car is sick.

Pretty sure Roy's car ran 9.35 @144-145mph with the stock ECM and ME-R MAFless setup... If I remember correctly some of the other Ohio guys in Red's crew (Frank Parvin, Mark Jackson, and Dave Poppey) have all been in the mid 9's with Red's chips and thru the stock MAFs... I know Mark Jackson switched to the ME-R chip and ran a bit faster (maybe .40's or .30's??)...

Underboost, I'm sure you will remember my buddy Orlando's car aka "the Magician" according to your buddy Lou...

Randy's got Roy's old iron headed 109 that ran 6.00's @115mph in the 1/8 mile so I'm sure it must run okay:eek: :D

I think with the MAF Pro it would be pretty easy to do. Once you get the hang of programming that thing, its a pretty slick unit.

The Ohio boys running that fast are also running Stage 2 blocks (thought the questions were posted about a 109 block) and yes, they are running Red's Raptor MAF.

Im kind of struggling with this issue. I have the ME 16 pos chip and got it figured out and have a FAST B2B system sittin in the closet. My combo should be good for low 10's. Not sure if i can get there any better or easier with a FAST. The chip is easy to tune the FAST is a different monster. You guys think ill notice better performance with the FAST over the chip. I planned on going ME-R.

I could be wrong about this, but I think Bret Rudbeck ran in the low 10 teens with a stock GM maf, stock location ic, and ported iron heads. I remember checking his car out at BPG in 05. Couldn't believe he still had a stock maf.
