I am sick and tierd of the problems with the flat tappet hydraulic cams. I have personally went through 3 cams and now last night I had a lifter go bad. Its causing false knock and ticking terribly. How much money does it take to go to a roller cam. Do you have to change to roller rockers as well?

They sell kits for it all. Check vendors for prices. It's somewhere around $900$950 for everything I beleive.

I don't think you have to change rockers. You might need different sized pushrods, but I'm not sure. I would do a search using "roller cam" and read all you can about peoples experiences.

You can get a nice roller cam kit from Comp Cams its about 950 I believe comes with cam, valve springs, lifters, timing chain

$1100 for Webber/comp cams hyd billet roller set up---this does not include roller rockers, valve springs, or machining the front cover. Brian

Who would have a complete package? So I get the right springs and pushrods etc. I do have longer push rods already because of the GN1's.
What has to be done to the front cover? I thought that you have to had the cam secured to the back of the block so it doesn't walk.

Check out ATR. They have some complete packages. Their roller installs like a stocker, as they use a cam button. No need to machine your front cover. I have the Weber roller 206/206 - was a pain to install, but am very pleased with the results.

Good Luck

Why was it a pain to install? I have a 218-224 cam, what would be the roller equivelent?
ATR has a complete kit for $927 includes pushrods. Are the pushrods typically shorter or longer with the rollers?

Just was a hassle to machine the front cover. With the ATR just a drop in. Check with ATR on the p/r lenght - with your GN1(s).
