Any way to know when fuel pressure is set to the right value? I have a 87 GN with an aftermarket turbo not sure of the size but bigger than stock of course, champion iron heads, headers, 42lb injectors, k and n intake, fuel pump, adjustable regulator, I'm thinking th car is running rich as it doesn't have the power I think it should, what should this combo run at the track has 3:42 gears, anyways is there a safe way to get the fuel pressure in the ballpark of where it should be without damaging anything thanks!

I hope you have a fuel pressure gauge on it... And depending on the chip they give you a recommended fuel press setting

Can I just hook a gauge up to the fuel rail shrader valve, I haven't looked at the chip yet I just got the car would it be written on it or would I have to look up a part number

I got my fuel gauge at kirban and yes it just went on the fuel rail I have to look at mine again but I think my turbo tweak chip recommends some where around 42 lbs I'm sure some one on here can confirm if I'm wrong

Would the fact that I have 42lb injectors come into effect at all and not stock ones?

I think it more depends on the chip and what they have it burned for

Post a pic of your fuel pressure regulator and we can tell you how to adjust it.

Most likely you have an adjuster bolt with a jam nut sticking out the top. Running it down will raise pressure, and backing off will lower it.

Will it say on the chip or will I have to look it up on the web somewhere i haven't checked what chip is in it yet at work now ill look when I get home

If you just bought it and dont know what turbo it is...I would wait before you start getting into the boost. Do you have a scantool? Is this your first turbo buick?

I'm not getting into boost I'm trying to set the fuel pressure and it is my first turbo buick that's why I came to this forum for help ill pull the heat Sheild off tonight and see what it says

This is a great site...along with

gnttype.org and vortexbuicks.

Read up!!! This is a great site and just about anyone will help out.

Should the turbo info be stamped on the housing somewhere? Also do you mean a scan master I've read up on those or a scan tool like a snap on brick etc I have a snap on tool at work

Post some pix of the turbo. Someone will be able to identify it.

Scanmaster is bare minimum for tuning. Really good to have a powerlogger and Scanmaster so that you can log your runs and have one of the "pros" here look over it.
