Hey guys,
I could sure use some opinions on how to change the pump motor for the gn. I was thinking about sucking out all the brake fluid in the reservoir with a turkey bastor and then start from there. I would then change pump motors (i bought from terry brand new) and then top off the reservoir again with new dot 3 brake fluid. Then of course bleed brakes if required. My motor does not come on at all. The pedal is hard. I changed the pressure switch, accumulator and nothing. The fuses are ok. How do i check the old pump motor to see if there is any current.?

Please respond any time.

Thank you

I've replaced them quite a few times with the PM unit off the car but never with it on the car...it's a messy enough job off the car so I would suggest doing it with unit off...if not suck all fluid out of the reservoir...remove and replace pump/motor...most likely you'll lose the fluid from the MC so you'll need to bleed the MC...get a master cylinder bleed kit at local part store...they are located in the "HELP" section...fill the reservoir and slowly pump the brake pedal until bubbles are gone...may take quite a few pumps so be patient...air in the MC will result in spongy pedal...do you know why the pump/motor burned out?...if it was caused by an internal leak in the MC you'll be doing this again very soon...I always rebuild the MC when I replace the pump...cheap insurance...
