I am getting high BLM's and is suspecting a bad EGR Solenoid. How can I check if it is bad. There are 2 vacuum nozzles (big and small). The small nozzles seems to have a slight vacuum at idle. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance.

You could plug the vacumn line going to the EGR solenoid and see if that makes a difference. Post back and let us know what you find out.

The little one goes to the egr diaphram. Listen all you have to do, pull the check valve out and plug the hole. Reset the computer and fire the car up again and see if the BLM's come down. if they dont look elsewhere for the problem.

Plug all vacuum orfices and see when they come down. if they dont..its something else. I usually get some gasket material and plug the hole top of the TB vacuum block.. if they come down..you have a direction. If they dont, look elsewhere.

This problem is a pain to find.. sometimes..

Hey there,, Where is this (pull the check valve ) At,, I got my car running and it was idleing like crap so I was replaceing parts and pulled the hose off the EGR Vavle and it ildes like it sould put the hose back on it and it runs like crap? is it the check valve or EGR vavle??

that would mean that the solenoid is bad and is passing vaccum to the EGR valve at idle;which it should not;-only at part thottle/ cruise speed during it's duty cycle.the solenoid should have 5 volt power supply constant; the ecm grounds the circuit during duty cycle.egr diaphram is ok-is lifting with vac. causing rough idle.
good luck.....
