If I pull up some of my old DS files, can I determine my stall? I think its 3200, pretty sure, but I know it can vary based on engine output. If I can, what should I look for? Thanks!

I hope this helps, but look at the DS file as the car is building bosst at the line. Look for the largest RPM on DS while the VSS is still reading 0.

I agree with what Trent said. I usually look for a couple other things as well. I look at my TPS, MPH and RPM. When I launch I usually floor the gas pedal for a split second before I let off the brake. I watch for this in DS also, as my TPS reading goes to 4.6 and I know I've floored it and then I watch how many frames it sits @ 0 mph. I usually get another couple hundred rpm of "flash stall" which is when you have floored the gas and let off the brake and the convertor stalls slightly higher before the car starts moving. I've had DS show as high as 4000 rpm @ 0 mph and I figure I have a 3200 rpm convertor.

Well, I looked the files over, and remembered I was having tranny slippage problems this year. Using the method you guys suggested, I get anywhere from 3200-4200. Tranny may have been slipping, but I don't think it was, because once I let off the brake to launch, it would spin the slicks. Guess I'll have to get some new numbers with the new tranny. Thanks guys!

I have the exact same question....can I determine stall with DS??

Any more input??

Thx, Bob
