I received my LS1 MAF and Translator plus Gen II yesterday. I'm a little confused on the installation.

Click the pic for a bigger one.

The first two pics are the Translator and a couple of wiring harnesses. These are not the problem. Instructions are included that tells where to splice these wires into.

These next three pics are the problem.

The Translator came with this adapter, as shown in the next two pics.

The questions is this: where does this adapter go? I assumed that it was used to connect the stock connector to the LS1 mass airflow sensor, which is shown below.

The problem is that it doesn't fit.

Neither end of this adapter will plug into either the mass airflow sensor nor the stock connector.

So...do I have the wrong adapter? Or does this adapter go somewhere else?

I answered you on the other board, but that is the incorrect adapter.

Thanks, Bob.

I've been snooping around various places and see there seems to be some sort of relationship between the MAFT and the air temp sensor.

I am currently using a Jay Carter variable timing chip which required the installation of the boost sensing kit that is used by Ken Mosher's (I think) laptop software. So my air temp sensor is not being used.

What kind of effect, if any, will this have with regards to use of the MAFT?

Thanks.

What chip are you planning on running with the Gen-2?

If running that variable timing chip, then leave the MAP sensor and cable as you have it, and do not connect the brown wire from the Gen-2.

If running the Extender Extreme G, connect it per the instructions and remove the boost sensing stuff. The Extender chips are inherently "boost sensing" by way of their unique software and do not require a boost sensor.
