Anyone have a handle on how to locate the names of the people that have owned your car before you? I would like to locate my previous owners car, and maybe the one before him too.
If not, would anyone happen to know, a dude in Pawpaw Michigan, or Portage Michigan that had an '87 GN, with just a few mods on it, that sold it about 2 years ago? Maybe longer? This GN looked as if it had been owned pretty much its whole life in that area. Anyone?

do a search, this is like the 20th thread on this in a couple of months

Give me more info about your car. I thought I knew of all the GNs in k zoo Portage area, It didnt happen to come from Cole moter mall did it?

Do a search? ok, ill try it. I didnt really think there'd be any info on this.

whos the owner now? me :)

And more info on my car? i won this car on ebay, about 4 months I think after redeployment, soooo june of 2005, with 69,000 miles on it. gentleman that was selling it on ebay, said he was selling it for his brother, who was mysteriously never around for some odd reason. Never there for phone conversations, emails or in person when I bought the car either. He claimed the brother had to sell it, as he already had a 69? nova project as well, and the wife just had another baby, so they were forced to move to a new home, which im assuming was because they needed more room. The wife said one of the toys have to go, and he chose the buick to go.
Interior was MINT, save for a SLIGHTLY worn steering wheel, and a SLIGHTLY warped front speaker panel (the part that always warps up front).
it was only slightly warped on the drivers side speaker. The car was repainted, and for the bulk of the paint, it wasnt that bad. but there were quite a few amateur mistakes, that arent noticeable from afar, (and of course, the two typical paint mistakes done to our cars, which is the gloss black painting of the flat black stuff on our cars, ie door handles, grille, front fog light bezels, quarter glass trim, windshield and rear glass trim, and wheelwell molding, and the ever popular GN emblem placed on the passenger side instead of the drivers.).
it came with brand new 245 radial T/A's with with black lettering out, on all 4 corners. the parts that came with it in the trunk, were a set of stock headers, with the typical crack, stock air box complete with factory maf hose, and valvecover to turbo breather /hose.
It had, what looks like a complete turbo back, 2.5" hooker dual exhaust system in mild steel, kenne belle chip, 2400 rpm stall (or so he thought) 9" K&N cone stuck on the end of the MAF, chrome steel maf pipe, drivers side breather, bosche 237 fuel pressure regulator that was modded to be adjustable. Looks like a professional job. Must have been some old school stuff that was available back in the day, B&M stage 3 shift kit, throttle body bypass mod, and ac delco one degree cooler sparkplugs.
Everything else appears to be bone stock. That was the only stuff done to it. It had a ton of really good quality photos on the auction, and was very complete in his description. The day before I was due to pick it up, the powermaster went, so he had a brand new one thrown on for I think 500 dollars. He footed the bill. I was the one and only bidder on this car. I believe bidding started at 10,500 dollars, and I was the only bidder on it, so I won it at that. But for some reason (my horrible memory) I thought it was 10,400, instead of 500. At any rate, the car started and drove fine. I bussed in from detroit, met at a local mcdonalds, he picked me up, drove me to his house, and drove it from portage, all the way home to detroit, without a hitch. Car drove nice. Anything sound familiar twister?

go to SOM - State of Michigan then on that homepage go to the secretary of state listing. they should have some info for you there. I haven't tried to track down the orig owner of my GN yet. It was titled in Grosse Pointe until 2005, then titled in White Lake for 6 months when that guy made a trade with the guy I bought from in Milford in 2006. According to my carfax report one accident in 2001 in Wayne County with minor damage reported.

I think you got me on this one... Guy named Vince from Portage that worked at Normans camera may have sold his but its been awhile. Next time I talk to a friend from that area Ill do some more searching for ya. The Cole auto mall had one of my friends old cars there after it had been painted and alot of other things done he had to get his old vin to see if it was his old car. He couldnt tell for sure if it was his. Ill get back to you if I find out.

cool thanx. Im not sure what the original owner did for a living, but i think the brother that picked me up, was a contractor of some sorts. I knew but I forgot. He drove a newer pickup (i think a ford) and he was dressed in typical outdoor contruction type clothes. He was taller, and looked to be in his early 40's.
