How to replace climate control unit?

I have a new climate control unit waiting to go in my car and am wanting to install it soon. My question is, how do I get to the original one? Can I just remove the trim piece surrounding it and the stereo, or does the whole dash need to come out? If it's just the trim piece, what does it take to get it off? Any help would be appreciated.

The trim piece just pulls off. Don't get carried away - carefully pull it out. It is held in place by some metal snap clips. Once off, you'll see the small bolts that hold the control head in place. Couldn't be much easier really.
