Hey guys, anybody know where I can find some info to help me pull the vaccuum brakes of the car. I am swapping between 2 cars but dont really know where to get started. I basically just dont know how to pull the units of the fire wall Thanks!!

Getting the diaphram off of the firewall was not an easy task for me. You have to crawl all up under the dash and remove the nuts from there. Just follow the brake peddel up under the dash and you will see ...errr... rather feel the diaphram mounting nuts way up there. Bring a big bag of patience with you, you'll need it. Hope this helps

AWWWW MAANNNNNN!!! PATIENTS WAS THE KEY! I got them swapped for the most part. It's definately not fun doing 2 cars!! i got one completely back together and need to bleed them yet!! Man that wasn't fun, MY NECK HURTS!! What is the proper process to bleed? Thanks for the help!! ----Jeremy

when i converted i bled farthest from the master cylinder(pass rear)and then the other rear then front pass. then the driver. just to let you know your supposed to have 18pounds of vacuum at in park at idle to the vacuum brakes. Ive had mine installed for a year now and they were squishy. found that in an article and chased down a leak. hope it helps.

Hi,
As far as bleeding is concerned, most of the air can be removed at the master cylinder when you are talking about these conversions. If both cars had a hard pedal to begin with, and if you have an assistant, then you can purge 90% of the air from the whole system just by cracking the lines AT the master cylinder.
IF you get air into the rest of the system, you'll have to do it the hard way.Without a pressure bleeder, the old pump the pedal method will have to suffice.
Conversions always have their problems. Good luck!

Got er bled last night on the car with the Powermaster and the peda seems to be a little squishy. I might be imagining it but we bled the crap out of that puppy so I can't figure out why the pedal would be shoft still. Will the pedal eventually stiffen up? I can't imagine there being any air in there concidering we used a ton of fluid in that puppy! We hit the air pockets on all 4 wheels and then cracked the bleeder at least 8 times after the air was gone. ------Jeremy
