how to tell the year of a NA regal?? need to know if its a 109 block-

I know all late 85 thru 87's 3.8's were 109 blocks-

a buddy and i were given a 84-87 regal with the 3.8 motor still in the car..
without looking under the car, since its sitting in weeds, its 29 degrees out, and im behind the computer...

how can i tell the year of the vehicle by VIN? what digit desinates the year of the car?

the door sticker is not legible-

the car has 8445 heads

E = 1984
F = 1985
G = 1986
H = 1987
