Two totally different engines, both have #4 showing the tell tales signs of a lil detonation on #4. On the last engine, swapped injectors, and same deal. One is 3.8, one 4.1L. Is there some little known oddity about #4?.

Anyone using a J+S Knockguard?.

TIA

First engine had a different set.
Even different ecms. Second ecm was batch fire, using one transistor to fire all the injectors. First engine spent most of it's life in SEFI mode. One spent most of it's life with an eDist the other stock DIS. The only thing I can see is something inherit, to the engine.

I'd seen one data log from years ago, showing the it was actually #2 that detonated first on that enigne, and as I recall it was a stocker.

maybe your injector harness isn't working properly and is damaged

Ah, forgot to mention all new EFI harness. No splices or connectors between the injectors, and ecm. Injectors now run off of a relay directly off of the battery. Absolutely min number of connectors in the EFI harness. And the new more more weather resistant injector connectors.

thanks thou.

Even so, they claim the rear two were the lean ones, as I recall.

Replying to keep this alive, hoping for an answer....
